Embassy

Welcome to the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Tehran. The Embassy is located in the Farmanieh area in Northern Tehran, and has a total staff of 16 people, including 5 Norwegian diplomats. Diplomatic connections between Norway and Iran were established in 1908, and the first Norwegian Embassy in Tehran was opened in 1959. Our main mission is to represent the Government of Norway and Norwegian interests in Iran and to maintain relations with the host state, as well as providing consular services to Iranian citizens applying for residence in Norway and Norwegians visiting Iran.
